Editorial
Dear Readers,
In these challenging times, our customers are demanding more from all of their vendors. At the same time, companies around the world are engaged in tougher competition than ever before. As if that were not enough, business processes continue to become more and more complex. At SAPERION, we believe that companies should view IT developments not as a necessary evil, but as an opportunity to overcome the current crisis and capitalize on natural competitive advantages.
Electronic records have proven to be a sustainable solution for satisfying elevated legal requirements and internal governance rules while simultaneously bringing significantly greater efficiency to business processes. A SAPERION survey of 130 medium-sized companies confirms that corporate managers recognize the potential of electronic records. More than a third (38%) of those surveyed already retain business information in digital records. However, there remain many opportunities to be discovered. So far, many corporations view electronic records only as stand-alone solutions, not as a comprehensive business strategy. Consequently, their use of electronic records has only a moderate effect on overall performance.
The most efficient and successful ECM integrations are characterized by multi-departmental implementation. Our SAPERIONvelocity solution proves that a web-based solution can deliver the same user-friendliness as a rich client. At the same time, expenses associated with rollout and maintenance are much lower and users benefit from straightforward access through any web browser.
The new issue of SAPERIONInside contains more details on the SAPERION study titled "Potential of electronic records not yet exhausted" and other interesting developments in the ECM industry. I hope you enjoy this issue of SAPERIONInside!
Best regards,
Rudolf Gessinger
