»With SAPERION we are able to provide information a lot quicker as our workflows are processed even faster. ROI has been reached after 18 months.«

Dawn of a new era
The launch of version 2.0 of the BPMN standard (Business Process Modeling and Notation) ushers in a new era. Over the past few years, BPMN has established itself as the standard for graphical mapping of activity chains. However, there was no uniform means of storing graphical data, so there was no interoperability of models between various platforms. BPMN 2.0 resolves precisely this problem.
SAPERION meets BPMN
SAPERION quickly recognized the value of this and adapted its ProcessDesigner to reflect the look and feel of BPMN 2.0. In addition, a web service-based interface is now available that third-party modeling tools can use to import models into SAPERION for execution by the Workflow Engine.
SAPERION and Signavio moving towards Round-Trip Engineering in BPM
Our partner Signavio has a product known as Process Modeler that targets the needs of process analysts. One of the great things about this solution is the ability to transfer models to SAPERION. But that is not all. Since SAPERION does not yet support all elements of BPMN 2.0, Signavio provides a special subset of elements. In addition, this subset has been expanded with SAPERION attributes that are not yet contained in the standard but which are very useful for daily activities or which help avoid the need for custom programming.
As a result, SAPERION and Signavio have begun to close the gap between these two worlds. Process analysts have access to professional functions for creating models and documentation as well as for analysis purposes. By giving analysts or IT engineers expanded workflow attributes for defining runtime behavior, SAPERION Workflow can make it easier for users to perform their daily tasks. And what’s even better: both sides use the same tool!
