»On the one hand, our software partner ought to be a large company with an economic sound background. On the other hand, we appreciate a fast, unbureaucratic and individual support. SAPERION provides the perfect combination of both.«

Comment: This version is common criteria certified with Java JRE 1.4.2 only. and will not work with other versions.
SAPERION client or broker server must run on Windows.
In case of eTimestamp Module or eArchive Module the AuthentiDate service may run on those UNIX systems which are certified by AuthentiDate.
The chipcard reader must be from class 3 (with a display).
For more information about supported signature functions, card readers and chipcards read the current product data sheet of AuthentiDate.

Important hint in respect to the German Signature Law: qualified signed documents are loosing their high evidence value if the used algorithms become week (see list above). In this case customers have do prove whether they want to keep corresponding documents and to re-sign them. Electronic invoices for e.g. have not to be re-signed. SAPERION offers a standard re-sign functionality compliant to the ArchiSig-Concept.

 1

In Germany, the Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) is responsible for the correct use of signature solutions with respect to the German Signaturgesetz and Signaturverordnung. Every year, BNetzA publishes the "strength" of algorithms which may be used to sign a document. The information in this table has been published in 2007.

 2

Special chipcards must be used to support signing more than one document in a batch-process (e.g. scanning).

 3

The eArchive Modul supports the verification of signed documents subject to several algorithms. For more information read the current product data sheet of AuthentiDate.

Please feel free to inquire about the availability of other signature solution support.

SCANNER SUPPORT

We generally recommend connecting scanners through an native ISIS interface or a Kofax Adrenaline board whenever possible. Special features, such as endorsing or barcode recognition, may require customization.

  • ISIS Interface

In general, SAPERION supports scanners with the appropriate ISIS driver. ISIS is a standard for scanner drivers developed by Pixel Translations (also see: www.pixtran.com) that is also a MS61 standard as specified by AIIM. High quality scanners already have ISIS drivers included, otherwise they are available from Pixel Translations. Due to the high quality of ISIS drivers, they rarely need additional adjustment. Based on experience, we recommend the use of ISIS drivers for all scanners.

  • For ISIS drivers, automatic document feed (ADF) and duplex scanning are supported, whereas endorsing is not actively supported.

To allow connectivity to scanners that do not have an ISIS driver, developer toolkits are provided by Pixel Translations (www.pixtrans.com) and LEADTOOLS (www.leadtools.com).

  • Kofax Software VRS and Adrenaline Board Support

In general, SAPERION supports scanners with the appropriate Kofax Adrenaline board. Adrenaline is a set of scanner controllers, image processing accelerators, and software engines for professional document scanning. Software VRS is supported as well. (www.kofax.com)

For Kofax Adrenaline boards, barcode recognition, endorsing, and VirtualReScan are also supported.

  • Recommended Scanners

Due to positive experiences the use of scanners from Kodak,Fujitsu oder Canon is recommended as well as all certified scanners by KOFAX.

Generic NAS has been tested against:

  • remote windows share
  • Grau HSM
  • Sun SAM-FS 4.3 via Windows 2003 with Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 NFS Client  SAM-FS Patches 119150-01 and 119153-01
  • Sun SAM-FS 4.3 via WRQ NFS Client,  not as service

In principle, SAPERION 5.6 supports all true SCSI-2 storage devices. However, standards are often implemented incorrectly or only partially. SAPERION therefore recommends to use only devices that are sure to be tested and working. These systems are compatible with SAPERION and have been used in various projects.

The connection between controller and jukebox as well as the SCSI bus terminator should always be of the highest quality and comply with the latest standards.

Using Jukeboxes in conjunction with fibre channel connections is not supported.

SAPERION 5.7 supports all current media sector sizes, with the exception of DVD-R/DVD-WORM, where only 32 kBytes/Sector are supported.
