Business Process Management

Business Process Management, commonly referred to by the acronym BPM, has a long tradition. Ever since humans began trading with one another, they have strived to optimize how they do business. The theoretical foundation was laid by members of the Society for Organization (gfo) in Germany. Today, BPM experts can earn an internationally recognized certificate. At its very core, BPM is organizational work.

SAPERION offers process experts and participants the following products that help them optimize their processes:

  • SAPERION ECM Workflow: This product is ideal for processes that involve multiple records and multiple work steps performed by several different people, especially when avoiding delays is a high priority. Any type of process can be modeled graphically using the BPMN 2.0 standard. This ensures that processes run with full compliance, such as observation of the four-eyes principle when signing contracts. When unexpected circumstances arise (as is common in case management, for example), users can use routing- lists to organize additional tasks on an ad hoc basis.
  • SAPERION Process Modeler powered by Signavio: This product gives experts the tools they need to professionally capture, document, and analyze their processes. If gathering all process participants around a single table is not possible, they can be invited via e-mail to add their comments. Not needing a separate client is a major advantage. It works through a web browser without the inconvenience of installing software. By estimating resource consumption and branching probabilities, the process manager can forecast expenses, such as what can be expected to occur when replies are received from promotional activities.
  • SAPERION BAM Dashboard powered by QlikView: While the Process Editor is used early on, BAM Dashboard supports process managers during actual production. SAPERION ECM Workflow logs runtime data. This data can be evaluated for Business Activity Monitoring purposes. Thresholds, known as key performance indicators, can provide additional warning. Capacity-related questions needed for planning the following day, such as compliance with service level agreements, can also be answered. At the same time, trends that develop over a longer period of time allow managers to draw conclusions for longer-term planning.
