This archive features complex search mechanisms. In addition, the Microsoft product can be extended by incorporating archiving, document management and business process management functionalities while ensuring legal compliance.

Archiving

SAPERION ECM Compliance Suite for Microsoft SharePoint can attach documents that originate in SharePoint (including metadata) to customer files, thereby creating a non-revisable archive. Extensive indexing options are available when archiving: These range from individual, manual entry to fully-automated indexing and the SAPERION full-text option, which extends to file attachments of various formats like Word or PDF. Furthermore, even after a document is archived in SAPERION ECM you can still retain it in SharePoint for ongoing teamwork. The document may be edited on the user's personalized "MySite" and can be shared and jointly edited using SharePoint tools.

Search

Users can take advantage of the SharePoint search function to access content from SAPERION ECM or third-party applications tied to SAPERION ECM. When needed, this function searches through all external sources of information unified by SAPERION ECM, such as SAP records, Notes documents, or incoming mail. It is not necessary for the user to know the source of the information that is sought.

Processes

Besides SAPERION ECM, Microsoft SharePoint Server also integrates SAPERION ECM Business Process Management. As a result, users can work directly with SAPERION workflows in SharePoint. SharePoint Workflows are also hard-wired with SAPERION ECM: Workflow-controlled archiving of a Microsoft SharePoint document in SAPERION ECM is standard.
